Beet Smoothie



Beet Smoothies!  Wonderful for your health with tremendous benefits for both your body and your mind. Vitamins and Minerals include:Potassium, magnesium, fiber, phosphorus, iron; vitamins A, B & C; beta-carotene, beta-cyanine; folic acid. These are but a few of the many nutrients, vitamins and minerals that can be found in this little vegetable and its greens.

This is one of the easiest to make.  Remember to always use the freshest ingredients available to you.  Your end results will only be as good as your ingredients.

Ingredients:

2 C Spinach

1    Beet, roasted, peeled and chopped

3    Medium Carrots, rough chopped

1 C Water, filtered

1 C  Ice

Place all ingredients in a high powered blender and process until well integrated and silky.  Add a little more water or a little less depending on your preference.

This vegetable is particularly beneficial to women who are pregnant, as the vitamin B and iron are very beneficial to new growth cells during pregnancy as well as replenishing iron in women's bodies.

Additionally, they are a wonderful liver tonic and work as a purifier for the blood. It has a lovely flavor, a ruby red color and aids in the prevention of cancer.

They also contain betaine, the same substance that is used to treat some forms of depression. It  contains trytophan, which relaxes the mind and creates a sense of well-being, similar to chocolate also work as an aid in lowering your blood pressure.

This veggie is low in calories and although sweet, the sugar is released gradually into the body.  Whether you choose to drink them in a lovely beverage, where you gain additional health benefits from the spinach and carrots, eat them as a side dish or in a salad, these are a must for the healthy foodie!

Don't forget to add a couple leaves of spinach as a garnish for your Ruby Red Nutritious drink - I can't say it enough, you eat with your eyes first, so always make the little extra effort to make it look as good as it tastes.
